Clement Riney born 1786 in Maryland, died 7-8-1862, and is buried in St. Rose's Cemetary, Washington County, KY. Clement is my great great great great grandfather. His father was Thomas Riney , who married Priscilla (Mudd ?). Thomas was born in the 1700's (1758???) and died in 1818 in Washington County, KY. |

Clement's Bible has proven to be a valuable source of information. In it, he wrote his children's names and dates of birth. This has proven to be the key in distinguishing this Clement from another Clement Riney of approximately the same time. Marriage and will records from Washington County, KY indicate there were 2 Clement Rineys in 1800. This one is young enough to be my ancestor, and the other Clement died in 1818, so there has been some confusion with them and their descendants... After he died, his son William Ray "Old Captain" wrote the names and birthdates of HIS children in the Bible, as well. Click here to see Clement's Bible pages. Click here to see his will. |
